Edwardian Apartment

Transformation of an Edwardian apartment in Barnes, South West London. Creating an entertaining space and area for eating together was key for the Client to represent their lifestyle and personality. Through a light-touch refurbishment and renovation, we have re-introduced a sense of scale - the beautiful period apartment now features an open-plan Kitchen and Living Room, celebrating the grandness which was previously lost within the segregated smaller spaces. Repairing and celebrating original features (such as cornices, architraves) whilst introducing a striking pop-of-colour allowed the Client to give a new lease of life to this beautiful space.

Project issues: small closed-off kitchen, no dedicated eating/breakfast area, clutter hiding original features

Our solutions: opening the wall between Kitchen / Living Room; creating a small breakfast bar to mediate the spaces whilst retaining open-plan living; re-arranging furniture to a more convenient and practical layout to maximise a sense of space. Opening up the doorway between Hall and Living Room to create an airy entrance. Opting for muted tones paired with striking colours to give a new lease of life and represent the taste of the Client
